Festivities

 

From 1 to December 8 performed the traditional Feast of the Virgin.

The feast of the Virgin of Candelaria is celebrated from January 25 to February 2, which is the main day; processions, marching bands, various dances of the Conquest and Moors and Christians from various locations of the republic; fireworks and rides.

 

These same events are held in honor of the Virgin of the Assumption, from 1 to 15 August.

 

The Spring Festival, are held 15 to 31 May; with bullfights, serenades, dances and cockfights, the last 5 days.

 

From 1 to 12 December we celebrate the Virgin of Guadalupe.

 Among other festivities are those held in the month of May, the month dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

 

From 15 to 31 May, the Spring Festival with serenades, dances and cockfights are held.

 

Traditions and Customs

At Easter it is customary, on Thursday, the seven temples visited.

 

On September 17, the devotees visiting the Holy Child Mezquitic.

 

During the celebrations of the Virgin of the Assumption a parade of floats and a "parade of big heads" is performed and burning gunpowder.
